Does using the calculator show you to companies?
Short answer: no. Using the calculator is quiet. No account. Numbers stay in this browser unless you share a link, and that link is banded ranges, not your exact comp. If you never opt into the marketplace, companies never see you.
What companies can see, if you opt in
A marketplace profile is a separate action. Companies see banded ranges, research areas, seniority. Not your name, not your email, not your current employer. The browse query does not include employer.
Accepting a pitch reveals your email to that company. That is the only reveal. Declining a pitch never reveals you. A paid pitch spends a credit. Decline does not refund it.
What we do not collect for the calculator
No calculator account. No device fingerprint. No background check. Completing a comparison sends one anonymous counter (verdict kind, not your dollars). Optional advisor traffic goes to Anthropic and is not zero-data-retention. Don't use it if you need that.
The live Terms of Service are a stub, not launch terms. They already cover the calculator and the marketplace. Creating a profile is the marketplace opt-in.
